Project Engineer/Technologist (Electrical)

The individual is responsible for the full project management cycle including planning, directing, supervising and controlling the technical, financial and administrative functions of each project.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Management and execution of multiple client projects.
2. Develop and maintain client relationships.
3. Actively market for new clients and projects.
4. Plan, develop, coordinate and review engineering requirements and responsibilities between disciplines on projects and assignments.
5. Provide comprehensive electrical engineering services according to project or assignment criteria.
6. Prepare and implement specifications, cost estimations and controls, scope of equipment and materials needed, and deliverables in accordance with project requirements.
7. Review engineering drawings and calculations.
8. Liaise between clients, support staff and third parties in all aspects of project management.
9. Participate in the development of OEL electrical engineering standards and procedures.
10. Provide mentoring, supervision and direction to staff.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university, or technical diploma from a recognized educational institution with 5+ years relevant experience.
2. Proficient in the review and development of electrical drawings, equipment specifications and project management.
3. Knowledge of applicable provincial and federal codes and safety laws. 
4. Working knowledge of engineering software programs and solutions.
5. Previous EPCM experience would be an asset.
6. Registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGGA.
7. Mature knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods.
8. Strong problem solving capability.
9. Ability to effectively communicate with clients.
10. Travel as required to ensure the successful execution of projects.
11. Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project schedules.
